Deflate Your Body Image
From where do you derive your self worth?
Lately my self esteem has been really low. My body image has been this constant source of negative self talk and feelings of inadequacy. I've been hiding myself from the world because I don't feel proud of myself.
Somehow the value of the shape of my body became so inflated in my mind, that it was the sole determining factor of my self worth.
Yesterday I had a perspective shift about what ACTUALLY matters. What actually has value. What parts of myself are so infinitely more meaningful reasons to be proud of, and where to draw my confidence from.
If you have a similar struggle, ask yourself this; "If I confidently walk into a room, what about myself is making me feel confident?" Visualize yourself strutting into a room, ready to speak to anyone, totally self assured. What is making you feel that way?
Is it your outfit? Your body? Your career success? Your social status? How many followers and likes you have?
Once you find your answer, I encourage you to take time to contemplate how much genuine, meaningful, value that trait has in real life.
I realized how frivolous the shape of my body is, especially in comparison to how hard I've worked on myself and how far I've come, that I'm capable of sustaining a beautiful real love in my life, that deep down I'm at peace, and that I have the courage to dream and the strength to manifest them.
Can you believe that I had all of these incredible reasons to feel confident, yet my pants size took up 100% of my consideration? I know you can believe it because I know you do it too.
Take time today to contemplate what you've read here, and come up with a list of TRULY valuable reasons you have to feel good about yourself, and walk into any room with confidence.
